After ten years of Navy Seal-like training in the principles of human behavior, Mark took vows to become a Zen Priest in 2008. Today he is actively engaged in his Zen practice, a business career, and consulting others to become personally and professionally empowered.
As the founder of LYFE Systems, Mark has assisted numerous individuals in achieving their career goals through training in the human dynamics that impact relationships and performance. Clients include top level executives, entrepreneurs as well as a diverse range of professionals spanning North America and Europe.
Other experience includes serving as part of the founding management team for Globefish Media BV from 2004-2008. As Director of Client Services, Mark oversaw the implementation of mobile and digital content management, distribution, billing, and reporting technologies for clients in the entertainment sector in the U.S. and North America. Duties included high level business development with major record labels, recording artists, film studios and media companies.
Prior to Globefish, Mark spent fifteen years as a producer, composer and performer who oversaw and contributed to projects for Fox Studios, MGM, Disney Animation, PBS, Mitsubishi, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Activision, Life/FX, Kids Save, Boston Market Restaurants, Power Athletic Footwear and various record labels. He has also worked with numerous recording artists such as Whitney Houston, Bonnie Raitt and Ben Harper.
In 2004, Mark initiated the formation of a network of film and media executives with the intention of bridging the gap between the Hollywood creative community and the world of private equity professionals. The group accomplished this by assisting creative entertainment entrepreneurs’ tie their creative ideas to sound strategy (marketing, operations and competitive advantage) and value creation (IRR).
In 2001, Mark was selected as one of “Ten Outstanding Young Americans” by the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. He received this honor in recognition of being one of the best, brightest, and most inspirational leaders America has to offer. Since its inception in the 1930’s, only 610 people have received this award. Former recipients include John F. Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Gerald Ford, Richard Nixon, Al Gore and Robert Kennedy. Mark holds a B.S. in a Business Administration from Cal Polytechnic State University.
